Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 3, 2026
Your privacy is critical to us. It is StackCompare's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Voluntarily Provided: When you sign up for an account, save a stack, or submit a review, we collect your name and email address.
- Automatically Collected: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, time on site) to improve our platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for:
- Providing and maintaining the "My Stack" dashboard functionality.
- Notifying you about updates to your saved apps (if opted in).
- Analyzing market trends to improve our comparison algorithms.
- Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse.
3. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies to maintain your session (Auth Token) and for analytics. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies, but some portions of our Service (like the Dashboard) may not function properly.
Affiliate Tracking: When you click a "Visit Site" button, a tracking cookie may be placed by the destination merchant (e.g., HubSpot) to attribute the referral. This is managed by the third-party merchant, not StackCompare.
4. Data Retention & Security
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested. We protect the data we store within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Opt-out of marketing communications.
To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@getstackcompare.com.
6. Third-Party Links
Our website links to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.
